How does MASTER DANCE INC. rentals work?

1.  FIND IT:  Search our collection of dresses for your perfect Dress.  You can filter by style, size, price, color, or designer to narrow down your favorites.

2.  BOOK IT:  Once you've selected your Dress book it for a 4-day rental period.  Make sure you check out our Accessories, Make-up, and Shoes to complete your look (we recommend 4-5 business days before your event).

3.  WEAR IT:  Your order will arrive by 8PM on your delivery date via our shipping partners.  Slip it on and enjoy your dancing in your fabulous look!

4.  RETURN IT:  After your event send back your items in the same shipping box along with the prepaid return label.  Keep the hanger and garment bag — we’ll take care of the dry cleaning!  Don't forget to add a review and help other dancers find their perfect look!

How long is a rental?

Our most common rentals are 4 day reservations.  If you need to rent the product for longer periods just Contact Us.  We recommend you book your order to arrive 1-2 days prior to your event to ensure you have plenty of time to ensure the perfect look.
Day 1 - Receive your dress and try it on
Day 2 - Accessorize and prepare for your dancing event
Day 3 - Wear it and look fabulous in your new look
Day 4 - Return your rental at your nearest shipping carrier by 12pm

How much does shipping cost?

If you pick up your order from our MASTER DANCE INC. location then shipping is FREE.

Our standard shipping rate for a single dress is $39.95.  Standard shipping times are 4-5 business days.

Our expedited shipping rate for a single dress is $79.95.  Expedited shipping times are 1-2 business days.

Our standard shipping rate for accessories and make-up is $4.95.  Standard shipping times are 4-5 business days.

Our expedited shipping rate for accessories and make-up is $9.95.  Expedited shipping times are 1-2 business days.

Our standard shipping rate for a single pair of shoes is $9.95.  Standard shipping times are 4-5 business days.

Our expedited shipping rate for a single pair of shoes is $19.95.  Expedited shipping times are 1-2 business days.

How do I cancel my rental order?

It's easy to cancel your rental order!  Just Contact Us and send us an email stating you would like to cancel your order.  Please ensure that you receive a response from us with a cancellation number within 48 hours.  If you have not received a response please try contacting us again.  Please note that you may cancel your rental order at least seven (7) days prior to the ordered delivery date, subject to the following cancellation fees: (i) for cancellations that are thirty (30) or more days in advance of such delivery date, no cancellation fee; and (ii) for cancellations that are less than thirty (30) days in advance of such delivery date, full credit that can be applied to a future MASTER DANCE INC. rental; credit at MASTER DANCE INC. shall be good for one year from the date of issue.

How do I get a refund for my purchase?

It's easy to return a purchased dress!  To receive a refund, Contact Us within 24 hours after receiving your order.  Using the same shipping box affix the pre-paid return shipping label and drop off the order at your nearest shipping location by 12pm the next day.  Please note that failure to deliver the order by 12pm the next day will result in a full charge of the purchase and no refund will be issued.  Also, please ensure that the instruction tag remains affixed to the dress.  No refund will be issued if the instruction tag has been cut off, removed, or tampered with.

How do I pick up my order from the MASTER DANCE INC location?

MASTER DANCE INC. is located at 3195 Red Hill Ave Suite J, Costa Mesa, CA, 92626.  Please make sure that you Make An Appointment with us prior to picking up your rental.  You can pick up your order between 5-8pm on your rental start date.

What are my delivery options?

You can select different shipping options to ensure your order arrives to you by 8pm on your rental delivery date.

Standard Shipping (4-5 business days) - $39.95 (for dresses)

Expedited Shipping (1-2 business days) - $79.95 (for dresses)

How do I choose the perfect dress?

1.  If you know exactly what you want use our search filters to help you narrow down your search by style, size, color, price, designer and more.  Click here to get started!

2.  Can’t decide and need advice?  Simply Ask Us Anything and one of our dance or make-up stylists will get back to you with expert advice!

3.  Love a style but need more info?  Under each Product page you will find a "Description" tab for each dress.  Also, find fit and measurement details on the "Size and Fit" tab of each dress page.  Finally, we have "Stylist Notes" for each dress which will offer advice on how to complete your look with Accessories and Make-up.

What if I want to purchase a dress but I don't live in America?

For purchases outside of America please Contact Us and we will do our best to send the product to you in the best possible way.

What if I want to rent a dress but I don't live in America?

At this moment we are not providing rentals outside of America, however, as our business grows we will make every effort to make this happen.  Please check back with us in the future or join our Mailing List and we will notify you when we make this feature available.

How do I try on a rental dress?

It's easy to try on a dress that you are interested in renting!  Under the detail page of each dress there is a Try On option.  Just select this option and add it to your cart and we will send it to you on the next available date.  We will authorize your payment card for the Retail Value of the dress as a security deposit.  You will only be charged the shipping for trying on a dress.  When the dress arrives you can try it on for 24 hours.  If it doesn't fit just return it at our shipping partner's location by 12pm the next day after receiving it.  Make sure to keep the Instruction Tag attached to the dress (if it comes back removed we will assume you have worn it and you will be charged a Rental fee).  Once we have received the dress then we will release the authorization hold on your payment card.  If your event is at a later date, then still return it by 12pm the next day and then rebook the dress for the dates of your event.  That way we can send it to you for your event and you will already know that it fits!

How do I try on a purchase dress?

It's easy to try on a dress that you are interested in purchasing!  Under the detail page of each dress there is a Try On option.  Just select this option and add it to your cart and we will send it to you on the next available date.  We will authorize your payment card for the Retail Value of the dress as a security deposit.  You will only be charged the shipping for trying on a dress.  When the dress arrives you can try it on for 24 hours.  If it doesn't fit just return it at our shipping partner's location by 12pm the next day after receiving it.  Make sure to keep the Instruction Tag attached to the dress (if it comes back removed we will assume you have worn it and you will be charged a Rental fee).  Once we have received the dress then we will release the authorization hold on your payment card.  Then check out our inventory of Dresses for another dress to try on!

Will the dresses need to be pressed upon arriving?

We do our best to ensure the dresses arrive to you wrinkle-free.  Each dress is steamed and pressed before being covered in plastic and placed in a protective garment bag.  If you receive a dress with slight creases please try steaming the garment on low heat or Contact Us for advice.

How are the dresses cleaned?

We take great care in cleaning the dresses.  We use a variety of techniques to ensure that each dress is cleaned thoroughly, steamed and pressed, inspected for quality, and packaged with care so that it’s ready for you to wear.  Please note that the majority of our dresses are on consignment and great care in keeping the dresses clean is necessary.

Can I keep or purchase a rental dress?

Of course you can keep or purchase the rental dress!  If you have a rental dress and absolutely love the look then feel free to Contact Us and just let us know you would like to keep it.  We will charge you for the retail price of the dress and the rental fee you've already paid will go towards the retail price of the dress (not including the shipping and tax already paid).  It's that easy!  Please note that purchases of a dress is on an "as is" basis and all sales are final.

What if none of the rental dresses I ordered fit?

If this happens we can help!  Choose one of the following options:
Option 1:  Return it and Pick another dress

In most cases, we can overnight you another dress in time for your event.  Contact Us once you've tried it on and we'll ship you another dress.

Option 2:  Return it and receive a full refund (less shipping)

We’re happy to give you a full refund (less the cost of shipping, rental fee of accessories and salable items) if none of the dresses in your order fit.  To receive a refund, Contact Us within 24 hours after receiving your order.  Using the same shipping box affix the pre-paid return shipping label and drop off the order at your nearest shipping location by 12pm the next day.  Please note that failure to deliver the order by 12pm the next day will result in a full charge of the rental and no refund will be issued.  Also, please ensure that the instruction tag remains affixed to the dress.  No refund will be issued if the instruction tag has been cut off, removed, or tampered with.

What if none of the purchased dresses I ordered fit?

If this happens we can help!  Choose one of the following options:
Option 1:  Return it and Pick another dress

If my dress doesn’t fit, can I still wear the accessories?

Absolutely!  Since we don’t issue merchandise credits or refunds for our accessories, you can certainly wear them and return them separately on your scheduled rental end date. 

What time will my dress arrive?

Deliveries are made between 8am and 8pm during weekdays and Saturdays.  We provide tracking information so you can see when and where your package is throughout the course of delivery.  Please note that a signature is required on all shipments and it is your responsibility to look out for the delivered items.  Mailrooms, front desks, and concierges would be able to sign on your behalf.

When should I make a reservation for a dress?

You can book a reservation up to a year in advance, and schedule your order to arrive 1-2 days before your event.  We also offer 1-2 days Expedited Delivery as long as you place your order before 3 pm the day before you'd like your rental to arrive. 

What if I accidentally stain or damage the rental dress?

We understand that some wear and tear and missing stones may be inevitable but significant damage and theft is not covered and the cost to repair or replace will be deducted from the deposit.  In some cases when the dresses is damaged beyond repair and can no longer be rented or sold then we will have to charge you 125% of the retail price (not including any rental fees already charged) plus any applicable taxes. 

Who are the MASTER DANCE INC. stylists?

The MASTER DANCE INC. stylists are experienced professional ballroom dancers and professional make-up artists who know what it takes to look absolutely glamorous on the dance floor!  With over 27 years of dancing experience and growing we know what it takes to look your absolute best on the dance floor to win that all important competition or wow the audience with your fabulous look!  We want you to look your absolute best on the dance floor so we will do our best to make it happen!

Are your dresses new or used?

We provide both new and used dresses.  Although the majority of our dresses are through consignment and are therefore used, we do take great care in ensuring that their condition is both sufficient for rental and purchase.  If we do have new dresses, they will be noted in our collection and product pages.

What if I want to extend my rental dress?

Extending your dress is not a problem!  Just notify us that you would like to extend the rental and we can do that for you providing that any extensions do not conflict with any other future orders for that dress.  Extensions are charged at a rate of 10% of the product Rental Price (plus any applicable tax and fees) per diem until you return the dress to us.

What if I return my rental order late?

A late return is subject to fees at a rate of $100 per day for every day that your order is late.  You can read our complete Terms of Service policy here.

My carrier store/dropbox does not pick up ground packages on Saturday.  What should I do?

We certainly understand that some locations do not pick up on Saturdays.  Please still return your order on that day so that it may be scanned the next business day.  As long as it’s returned on that Saturday and scanned on the next business day you won’t receive a late fee.

What happens if I lose or damage the rental dress?

We understand that some wear and tear may be inevitable.  Significant damage to the dress will be deducted from the deposit.  In cases where major damage to the dress has occurred where the dress can no longer be rented or sold then we will need to charge you 125% of the retail price of the dress plus any applicable taxes.  In cases of lost or stolen dresses, you will be charged 125% of the retail price of the dress plus any applicable taxes.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?

This very rarely happens, but sometimes items get damaged in transit.  Please Contact Us immediately and we’ll send you a new item.  After you contact us, return the damaged item in the same shipping box using the pre-paid return label.

What condition are the dresses in?

We take great care to clean and take care of all our pieces so they arrive in like-new condition.  Please note that the majority of our dresses are on consignment and are, therefore, not new.  We do our very best to make sure that there are no obvious stains, unpleasant odors, damages, missing stones sequins, or feathers.  However, some dresses may have preexisting damages or stains on them that may not be reparable.  You will not be charged for those preexisting damages or stains.

Can I remove instruction tag during my rentals?

Yes!  After you have received your dress and you are happy with the fit and look of the dress please feel free to remove the instruction tag on the dress and wear it at your dancing event.  However, if you are unhappy with the rental and would like to return the dress within the 24 hour period please do not remove the instruction tag.  If the instruction tag is removed no refund will be issued even if the dress is dropped off at one of our shipping partner's location by 12 pm the next day.  We would have assumed you have decided to wear the dress when you remove the instruction tag.

How much security deposit do you take for renting a dress?

For dress rentals we charge a $300 security deposit.

Do you put a hold on my credit card for the security deposit?

No.  We charge your credit card at the time of booking for a Rental Fee, Shipping cost, Security Deposit and any applicable Taxes.  Once the dress has been returned we then refund you the Security Deposit (less any amount for damages or repairs).

Why security deposit is necessary for rentals?

The security deposit is necessary to protect the owners of the dress.  As the majority of our dresses are on consignment, many of the Consignees are entrusting us with their dresses that they own.  Therefore, we take this responsibility very seriously and want to protect their property with upmost respect and care.

Can I do small alterations to a rental dress?

No alterations, no matter how small or minor they may be, are allowed to any dress.  Rental and purchase of the dress is on an "as is" basis and any alteration to the dresses will be considered a damage and may result in us charging you for alterations or returning the dress to its original condition.  However, at times you may pin certain parts of the dress with safety pins when necessary so long as it does not result in any damage to the dress.

What if I want to buy a dress which already has bookings for a later rentals?

You may purchase any dress at any time, however, preexisting rental bookings must first be satisfied.  After you have purchased a dress no further rental bookings will be made and when the final rental booking has been completed the dress will be cleaned, fixed, prepared and sent to you as a purchase.

How often do you add to your dress selection? 

We are constantly adding new dresses to our inventory!  The dress rental market is rapidly growing in the United States we are leading the way in this industry and are at the forefront of this rental movement.  Please continue to keep checking our inventory of Dresses as it continues to grow.  You may also Sign Up for our newsletter and receive updates on our new inventory as it comes in.

What if someone wants to buy the dress I reserved?

Rentals will always take precedence over the purchase of a dress.  If someone has decided to purchase a dress that you have booked for a rental, your rental will be completed first prior to us sending the dress to the new owner.

What if I don't return rental dress?

Not a problem!  If you have decided to keep the dress and want to purchase it just Contact Us and let us know.  We will charge you the retail price of the dress at the time you notify us and the rental fee you have already paid for (not including shipping and tax) will apply towards the retail price of the dress.  If, however, we do not hear from you and you decide to keep it we will assume that the dress is late and we will charge you $100 each day for every day that it has not been returned to us.  After 14 days (after the rental end date) we will assume that you will no longer return the dress and we will charge you 125% of the Retail Price (plus any applicable taxes) of the dress in addition to the Rental Fee, late fees, shipping, deposit, and any additional taxes already paid for by you.
